Entrepreneurs are leaders and readers are also leaders. If you want to stay on top of your game and make it in your entrepreneurship journey, you have to read and not only reading any book but quality books.

A wise man once said that if you want to stay relevant in any field, you must acquaint yourself with the latest in that field or have an evergreen knowledge. Entrepreneurship doesn’t only entail working hard but knowing the right things to be done with little hard work. If business was 100% hard work, then why barrow pushers and other people we know are work very hard still poor?

The importance of reading can never be over-emphasized. The need for everyone to be entrepreneur-minded is very clear to everyone now because of the recent turn of events all over the world. The richest and well-known people are not those who had too much education but people who read specific books that changed their mindset and how they think altogether.

Some people end up getting money as entrepreneurs or workers but within a short time, they all get back to square one. Why? It is simply because they didn’t know how to handle wealth or maybe had no plans. Why did they have no plans? They didn’t read about how to manage and grow wealth and ended up like millions of others.

We deemed it fit to get some books some of which we have read ourselves and decided to share them.

Top Financial and entrepreneurial books to read this year

Rich Dad, Poor Dad: this book was written by Robert T. Kiyosaki is an award winning book (New York Times and The Wall Street Journal Best seller) that has helped lots of entrepreneurs maintain and grow their wealth. In it, the author narrates how he grew up with two dads – his real dad (the poor dad) and his friend’s dad (the rich dad) and how they affected and fashioned his perception about money. This book explodes the myth and all you need to know about earning a high income and becoming rich. It explains the difference between working for money and having money work for you. This book opened my eyes to so many things that are now helping me in my entrepreneurial journey.

Think and Grow Rich:  Written by Napoleon Hill, this book has been called the “Granddaddy of all motivational literature”.  First published in 1927, Hill draws on stories of top millionaires of his generation like Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, etc. With his explanations, you are sure to get an edge over your fellows and competitors in business. This book will change your life I promise. Grab a copy today and you will never remain the same.

A review by an Amazon customer reads thus:
“Life changing! Increasing your awareness to yourself, to life itself.
Understanding others as a result of deep self understanding.
Ways to improve all aspects of life by simply trying the never-before-tried (at least by 90% of the population).
Napoleon Hill is a blessing! As he had Carnegie stand behind him during lectures, long after Carnegie died,
by reading his words and implementing his studies, I truly feel Napoleon Hill himself walks besides me, guiding me as to how to be the best I can to myself and to all around me.
Order it and read it and work at it! I WILL BE WORTH IT.”

Warren Buffet: Top 20 Secrets In Life And Business: In this book,  the author Alan Greenwich explains how you can emulate Warren  Buffet an American business magnate. He also gives you 10 Amazing lessons for life and 10 powerful lessons for business all from the business magnate. You learn how to control time, the simplicity in works, best competitors, the margin of safety, taking steps, market trends, reputable management, avoiding fads, quality investment, etc.

An Amazon customer has this to say:
“This little book is crammed with great advice. Avoid fads, manage your time, and the main sentiment that I found profoundly true is that we are each responsible for our success or failures in life. No more blaming someone else if we don't achieve what we set out to do. Hard work, honesty, integrity, and a sound plan that is carried through will reap great benefits. This man is a multi billionaire. He still lives in the same home he bought in the 1950's for under $40,000. Success is not measured in big homes, boats, or fancy cars. If you want some good, sound, practical advise, read this book. This should be mandatory reading for all high school seniors.”

The Richest Man in Babylon:  in this book, George S. Clason explains the success secrets of the ancients. This book holds secrets to keeping your money and much more. It sets you on a path to prosperity and maintenance of wealth. These secrets are explained through parables that hold the basics of money.
An Amazon customer also has this to say:
“I really enjoyed the simplicity of the lessons the writer was trying to convey. I did have to use more effort to read the speech of the characters, as its written with phrases such as "thou hast" and "thy." Overall, the lessons are probably ones we learn growing up, but the stories make it work the read. Each chapter is like a short story, this makes it great for short reads while on breaks at work. There are minor grammatical errors, but I'm not bothered by these. I would definitely recommend to all wanting to enrich themselves.”

7 Strategies for Wealth & Happiness: In this book, Jim Rohn explains seven strategies you need for success which include seeking knowledge, master time, control your finances, learn the miracle of personal development, unleash the power of goals, surround yourself with winners, and learn the art of living hell.

An Amazon customer has this to say:
Simple but fundamentally true. I have read this book several times and I still fine it interesting reading this book from time to time again. In this 7 strategies for wealth, Jim Rohn affirmed the work of Stephen R Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and that of Andy Andrews, The Seven principles that determines Personal Success. I will recommend this book and the other two mentioned here to anyone. Needless to say my rating for this book is 5 stars.
